
Wandy Rodriguez and the Houston Astros left Minute Maid Park victorious after a 5-2 win in front of 37,230 Sunday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Rodriguez (1-3) pitched five solid innings allowing only four hits with three strikeouts to record his first victory since July 2, 2006.
Carlos Lee put the 'Stros on the board in the the first inning on a RBI single scoring Craig Biggio. The D-Backs would answer back in the second inning as Scott Hariston poked a solo shot in the left field Crawford Boxes to tie things up at 1-1.
In the fourth, catcher Brad Ausmus doubled off D-Backs pitcher Doug Davis scoring Hunter Pence. Later that inning, Mark Loretta contributed to the cause scoring in Ausmus with a single to right field.
The Astros would score runs in the fifth and sixth inning as Adam Everett and Lance Berkman were part of five different Astros to drive in runs to secure a series win over the D-Backs.
Notes: Craig Biggio added two hits to move within 34 of the 3,000 hit club. In the month of May, Brad Lidge is 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA.
