All the many stories about women and mothers who hurt or kill their children reported today but I always ask myself why has there been absolutely no mention of dad. Does the child not deserve as much? How is the reader to understand these stories more fully when the child's immediate alternative support systems go ignored by the press? Does this have something to do with another seeming fact which is that women and mothers seem to seldom receive the equally harsh punishments men do?
