In the old days, many music videos had story lines. Most of them were predictable and went with the lyrics of the song. Some, like Radiohead's "Just" from 1995 kept you scratching your head. It kept you watching until the very end to see the climax of the plot. However, this one let's you draw your own conclusion. We like that. Why do you think the man was lying down on the sidewalk?
A couple of interesting things about the video: The man lying down on the sidewalk is laying on a fake arm. It's so obvious, but we don't know why the director decided to put it there. Secondly, the Thom Yorke from 12 years ago sure does resemble Clay Aiken. Now that's enough to make our stomachs turn.

Missed Connections: Gefilte Fish...and "Chain Connections"

Filming a video takes like two days, right? Lying with your weight on your real arm--on a hard sidewalk, not a bed--for hours and hours would suck, what with it falling asleep every 10 minutes.
Fantastic Video! - Minus the Clay Aiken look-a-like...
Too bad he can't sing like Clay Aiken, and obviously you guys haven't seen him since he was on American Idol Too bad for you.
Funny, I don't remember Thom Yorke ever looking like this. Or singing like this, either.

Gee Eric do you feel cool now that you dissed Clay Aiken. Lame, man.
Actually I think a better comparison is the guy on the sidewalk looking like Bradley Whitford instead of saying Yorke looks like Aiken. I don't think Aiken has ever looked that freaky or weird, even when he was on TV with the spikey hair. That guy is just sick looking.
Yeah, Eric. Clay was on Regis and [insert name of giggling, chipper blonde woman]. He's cool, man. Don't try quoting "Rolling Stone." Regis in 2008! He likes to talk about how much bran he eats! He eats bran muffins! And they make him regular! Poop! Yes!
Hello? Please enter the 21st century and let people enjoy whomever they choose. Don't be so...conservative.
Thom Yorke is amazing and talented.
Clay Aiken is a gifted song stylist.
Let it be.
Yeah, Eric. Stop preventing people from enjoying whatever artists they choose, whether they're pioneers of experimental rock or whiny ass-clowns. Quit being so conservative, man!
I must have missed the preventive measures in the post, but quite frankly, Aiken makes my stomach turn a bit too.
Well, I was going to comment, but after reading the Comment Policy I'm confused, realizing that Eric broke the TOU's himself. No "negative sniping" indeed.
Eric evidently may say what he pleases, but since I'm not allowed to speak negatively about Eric, I've concluded that Eric can't "hep" it; he needed a few hits on his page and the largest Internet fanbase will respond to an "alert" about their guy because we can't "hep" it.
Clay fans, we need to stop giving them what they want. I will say that Clay Aiken is "aging" much better than Thom Yorke has...sorry!
Good God, people, lighten up.
Exactly - lighten up. You Aikenites are blowing an innocent comment out of proportion. Eric, bravo for not getting into the junior high stupidityfest that is this comment string.
Us Claymates don't appreciate your "innocent" comment! Like the old saying goes, if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". I wonder what you look like. You might make someone's stomach turn too!

I'll resist the urge to point out both your hypocrisy and your double negative, because there ain't no use in being mean. Right, Lady?
The only resemblence to Clay Aiken with this guy is the red hair and spikes. Clay is a fantastic singer. He has changed his look several times.
He has also grown as an Entertainer. Oh, and he has the "IT" factor. He will continue to grow and wow the public. His concerts are great!
I'm just upset that no one has answered my question yet:
Why do you think the man was lying down on the sidewalk?
maybe he JUST heard clay aiken for the first time?
:-)
Secondly, the Thom Yorke from 12 years ago sure does resemble Clay Aiken. Now that's enough to make our stomachs turn.
Hmmmmm, that's the reason specific 'jerks' from Raleigh were able to manipulate photos and smear Clay's good name all over the tabloids.
Perhaps the guy in the video was trying to distract attention from the music of Thom Yorke..for which we should thank him. The entire video was totally mindless and very easy to forget...as is your article.
Clay has been a class act from the first moment he arrived on AI and will outlast all the current garage band wonders.... and most of the 'favored' top names in the industry.
I predict a very short career for you. Who needs another mud-slinging journalist who enjoys tear-down awesome singers, such as Clay, who do good in the world?
Hmmmmm, that's the reason specific 'jerks' from Raleigh were able to manipulate photos and smear Clay's good name all over the tabloids.
Yeah, Eric, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing those "specific jerks" in North Carolina to talk bad about Clay. How could you?
Who was Clay jerking in Raleigh?
wow. did someone just call Radiohead a garage band? hee hee. the Aiken Army attacks! I bet Thom Yorke (and Eric) are really losing sleep over this one. :-)
