Van Gundy is Done-dy

180507_van_gundy.jpgIn a much expected move, the Houston Rockets have announced the firing of head coach Jeff Van Gundy. The firing comes after the Rockets lost during the first round playoffs to the Utah Jazz. Van Gundy started with the Rockets in the 2003 and had an overall record of 182-146 with the team. Although some consider Van Gundy to be a great fit with the Rockets, he never managed to get the team past the 1st round of playoffs.

A likely candidate to replace Van Gundy is Rick Adelman, who coached the Sacramento Kings until 2006. Adelman has some ancient connection with the Rockets, as he was drafted in 1968 by the San Diego Rockets (who have since moved to Houston, duh).

Although we are a little sad to see Van Gundy go, we do agree that it is time for some changes for the Rockets.
