We'll admit that we're not exactly business-savvy, and we'd rather read the comics, or even Ken Hoffman, than the business section. But today, Mary Flood's column about car crash lawyers and advertising caught our eye. We were surprised to learn that Jim Adler, also known as "The Texas Hammer," has even established a presence on Myspace.
And what an elaborate Myspace it is! Mary Flood's column said that his page played the theme from Rocky, but we're sad to report that he must have taken the song down since she wrote about it. Still, we're impressed by his all-American layout and testimonial videos from his clients. His "about me" is very thorough, and he has even included a free case evaluation form. We're not sure, though, why Mr. Adler has indicated that he is 101 years old.
As far as his friends go, we think his top 16 is very sexy. However, Houstonist doesn't really think it's appropriate to leave comments like, "Hey theres gonna be a kegger this weekend. Wanna go? Theres bound to be at least one accident and a whole bunch of people to sue. Just hit me up if you wanna go Jay," or "What part of you is the Hammer?" We're also not convinced that Jim Adler is legitimately friends with 740 Myspace users, but if he wants to use such little discretion in friend-adding, who are we to judge?
We hope this will encourage other too-old-for-Myspace Houstonians to jump on the bandwagon. Marvin Zindler? Leon Hale, maybe? We can see it now: IM IN UR INTERNETZ TALKIN TO UR MULEZ.
