* Note: Houstonist reader Tami suggested the Kemah Boardwalk, but we figure that once you count Kemah, then you start to have to consider the Clear Lake area, and before you know it you're counting Galveston. And everyone knows beaches are unfair.
* * Note: Subjectivity must be revealed. Here's a Houstonist contributor favorite: Terry Hershey park at dusk
* * * Note: Turns out many of Houston's Top 20 (though there is no list) Outdoor Experiences take place on patios and in the backyards of restaurants or bars. While one day we may come up with a list of the Top 10ist patios in Houston, for now, let's see if we can incorporate those suggestions into our next Top 10ist list: the Top 10ist Summer Nightlife Experience in Houston. Do you love the nightlife? Do you got to boogie? Houstonist answers yes to both. So we want to come up with a list of the top nightlife places in Houston. However, we've all seen various lists of the top nightlife spots in Houston. So we want to add a detail: Houston summers. "Going out" and "going out on a Houston summer night" are often very different quests. We want to know how you turn up the heat when the heat's already turned up. For what is more Houston-esque than sweaty guys in Rice hats and hot girls in skirts and flipflops? You tell us:

Prompt #4: What are Houston's Top 10 Summer Nightlife Scenes?

Where do you go when the heat is on and you are too? And don't just tell us a locale - tell us the scene. That is: tell us where and when you go, what you eat/drink, what it costs, and why it's best in the summer. Also, try to tell us what the "people scene" is at your spot. What kind of people are there (other than you)? Where are they coming from and where are they going next? What do they look like, and why do they go to that place over other nightlife spots?

Everyone knows there's a fierce battle raging among nightlife entrepreneurs to be the best. But how many among us have dressed to impress and gone to the "it" spot, only to find chump city? Don't be embarrassed. Be helpful. Comment right below this post, and make your friends comment too. Tell us where to go this summer, and we'll see you there!

I left Houston a few years ago, but I always loved the front porch of Cecil's in the summer. Especially Monday night, with $1.50 Shiner Bock. Did they ever re-open after the fire?
