The Houston Rockets are set to re-acquire point guard Mike James in a trade that will send Rockets forward Juwan Howard to the Milwaukee Bucks. The deal, which is pending, could happen as early as today could include more players.
James played for the Rockets in the 2004-05 season, helping lead the Rockets to the playoffs. After an early playoff exit to the Dallas Mavericks, James was dealt north of the border to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Rafer Alston, a move that was deemed unpopular by some Rocket fans.
James, who became a free-agent after his stint in Toronto, was pursued heavily by the Houston team last summer, but he spurned a return trip and chose to sign with the Milwaukee Bucs after they guaranteed him a trade kicker, something the Rockets balked at and now Houston is taking on (funny how things work).
"This is great news for me," said James, who still calls Houston home. "I just think this is going to be a great look for me.
