Here's your rain plan -ist List, should such a situation be necessary. You know there's a great time - a great outdoor experience, that is - to be had this eve at Miller. Just read today's -ist List for details. But, should it rain, let's still have fun by mixing and elixing somewhere.
We know! Head out to the glorious Museum of Natural Science's hip new Friday(s) event: Mixers, Elixirs and Imax. Alright, so the Imax kind of wrecks the verbal flow, but just wait until you get those 3D glasses on. Houstonist checked out the first Mixers & Elixirs (sorry, Imax) event of the summer this past Friday, and boy oh boy was it rad.
Seriously. Allow us to set the imaginatory stage: a dorky Beatles cover band playing "A Day in the Life" multiple times, 2 bars with $3 beer and $4 wine, lots of empty and open exhibit halls, gems, taxidermic jaguars, a motley audience, oh yeah - and huge dinosaur ribcages lit up by neon strobes and a disco ball lights. What? Yes. And then if you got tired of that preposterous scene, you could always slip on some sturdy 3-D glasses and watch an Imax about Africa. Could it be the weirdest night ever? Possibly. Is it an excellent back-up plan to rained-out Miller? Definitely. We'll see you there? Wink.
