Happy Monday! (Because Fridays shouldn't have all the fun.) With high hopes for a drier week, today's Daily-ist is actually a Weekly-ist. Yep, folks. You're getting more bang for your buck with this one. Wait, you don't pay for these? You mean to tell me you get these events just GIVEN to you everyday?! Madness, I say! Lucky you.

The second annual Word Around Town Poetry Tour descends upon, around, and all over Houston this week, as featured local, state, and national poets, writers and spoken word artists join in an event filled week of poetry, poetry, and more poetry. Well-known and nationally recognized poets perform their work in venues around the Houston area for an entire week.

This year's poets include Paul Flores, Tonzi, Lupe Mendez, Joe B., Zelene Pineda, Jasminne Rosario, Stephen Gross, Marlin, Jerome Washington, Inertia and many, many, others.

Come join the talented, the artistic, the good, the bad, the beautiful poets of Houston's Second Annual Poetry Tour for a week of unforgettable literary genius.
