While it is a bit silly that our City Council is making hay of this, I think most of us would reluctantly admit that this scenario would play itself out the same way in our own offices.

We all have crazies in our workplaces that complain about the silliest stuff.

Diet Rite is very good (beats any diet coke, and I mean "coke" in the" I was born/raised here, even Sprites are cokes" sense of the word). Colas and sodas are sold just a touch farther north of us. Diet Dr. Pepper is my second favorite diet coke and Diet Coke, well, it kinds tastes musty or something, bleah. Pepsi is what you drink when you have to have caffeine and can't find coffee, tea or a coke of any other type that is caffeinated, not even a Mountain Ew.

How is it that nobody (including the DP Bottling Co) mentions that there is a great cola option in their lineup. Dr Pepper owns and bottles RC Cola, the ultimate underdog old school cola. That also includes Diet Rite Flavors and Diet RC (all with Splenda and not Nutra Sweet)I have a feeling that if city employees knew they will be able to take a step back 30 years to great cola taste they would not complain- David B

The Great Period Diaspora occurred in the 1950's. And "Dublin Dr Pepper" is now bottled in several locations (though I had some original in Fort Worth this weekend)!

Urban Houstonian, I second that. Dr Pepper with real sugar is great, and I think it even shows up at Central Market from time to time.

Seriously? The city council doesn't have better things to do than to debate AND vote on this garbage?

Hey, here's an idea, let's take the soda machines OUT of city buildings because helps to contribute to our label as "fattest city".

Accoriding to the article below, we're taking the soda machines out of schools for this reason, but once we're adults, apparently those things go out the window.

(See: http://houstonist.com/2006/05/03/no_soda_for_you.php)

Have you ever tasted the Dr. Pepper that is made with Imperial Sugar? I am a pretty stout Coke drinker, but that is some damn good soda. You can only get it directly from the plant somewhere near College Station. It's even worth the drive!
