When we first saw publicity shots of Marc Broussard a few years ago, back when his first full-length CD Carencro was released, we were afraid that he was going to be another teeny-bopper. It only took one listen to figure out that he wasn’t trying to be the next Justin Timberlake – this boy truly has soul. He proved it with “Home.”
The Louisianan just released his follow-up to that sleeper-hit album. SOS: Save our Soul is mostly a cover of classic and lesser-known R&B and soul songs. His voice and style fits the part, but we’re really looking forward to hearing more original tunes from Broussard. Expect to hear a few at his show this Saturday night at Warehouse Live.
You can see Marc Broussard’s Soul Revue free, on us. Just send your name, e-mail address, and phone number to contest (at) houstonist (dot) com by noon this Friday. We’ll contact the winner on Friday afternoon.
