I remember seeing this coverage on the news when it happened. All of the anchors (as you can see) were like "Who is Morrissey?" Today, I can't think of one non-mainstream artist that would garner this much attention and have over 500 people lined-up to meet him or her, and crying after they met them.

I Remember Morrissey's visit when I was living in Houston . I like the reporter that got the song title wrong - but my fave then and now is the clueless Blonde in the last minute & a half that thinks "Girlfriend In A Coma"is about Morrissey's girlfriend being in a coma! I showed Christi Myers this YouTube clip about a year ago. She is the reporter doing the story. She said it was a crazy time there. I'm not sure the TV stations would do a story like this today. mikemcguff http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com
