Why not get this week's festivities started early? And if ever we will suggest you driving OTB, it would be on a day where you can recover from the drive the day after.

Tonight, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion hosts "Star-Spangled Salute" with the Houston Symphony. This patriotic concert features "God Bless America," "Casey at the Bat" narrated by legendary Houston Astros player and former coach Larry Dierker, "Orange Blossom Special," the Texas Sing-Along, "The Original Ragtime Band," a Summertime Medley, Hayman's "Service Medley," the "National Emblem March," Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" complete with cannons and more.

Directed by principal pops conductor of the Houston Symphony, Michael Krajewski. (pictured) Arrive early to meet Uncle Sam and Puffy Pine Cone, as well as participate in the South County 4th of July silent auction.

It would be nice if Houston's Symphony performed their annual July 4th concert in Houston, on the steps of City Hall, maybe? I'm not trying to be territorial, I just want more of these traditional events in Houston-proper, and not in the suburbs.

They will be playing tomorrow, on the 4th, at Miller Outdoor Theater.

Urban_houstonian - check out the site in about an hour for more in town 4th events tomorrow. Whoo-hoo Inside The Loopers! :-)

That's okay, I feel like a huge boob at the moment! Yeah ITL!!
