NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE HORROR , THE HORROR (sorry apocalypse now

I AGREE FULLY WITH THE OTHER 2 COMMENTS. SAD THING IS...A FEW YEARS FROM NOW THEY WILL BE BUILDING LOFTS NEXT DOOR & WILL WANT A RETRO-INDUSTRIAL LOOK - LIKE AN OLD COCA-COLA PLANT.

ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT HOUSTON IS THAT MONEY & TASTE ARE STRANGERS.

you're right jim. this type of redevelopment is so typical of houston. get rid of the old and make way for the new.

i'm no civil engineer, but it seems like revitalizing the old would be more cost effective and environmentally friendly than demolition, not to mention more interesting for the eye. i hate to think of what the houston is going to look like 15 years from now...only new "hot" developments with no shread of history left.

It's too bad that this building, which would have been perfect for a real live loft conversion, is being demolished to make way for crappy townhomes. (The development is apparently going to be similar to the one in the 2800 block of Clinton Drive — it's a little more interesting than the horrible townhomes across the street from Coca-Cola, but only a little.)
