Now this one's personal. We can almost rememeer every detail of the day our visionary parents placed in our hands 4 cassettes. Standing in the kitchen, near the old antique dresser that held their supply of 8 tracks, albums, and cassettes; The place where we first laid eyes on the cover of Blind Faith's Blind Faith and knew we were looking in a drawer we shouldn't be; Those four cassettes places in our hands that day would serve to change the course of our entire musical existence.

You can probalby guess by now, those 4 tapes were Led Zeppelin I - IV. We imagine there wasn't much else we listened to for the next 6 months. That was 7th grade. And little did we know, those tapes would launch a life-long obsession with the dyermakers.

Tonight @ Jaone Hall, the Houston Symphony will bring to life many of those tracks from I- IV and many more Zeppelin favorites as they present The Music of Led Zeppelin: A Rock Symphony, a show that combines the power of an orchestra and a full rock band in a concert that also includes a rock-show style laser lights show.

Bridging the gap between rock 'n’ roll and classical music, conductor/arranger Brent Havens takes the podium to present the program he scored to extend the listening experience of Led Zeppelin’s timeless tunes. Performed with the Houston Symphony and amplified by a full rock band and the screaming vocals of rock singer Randy Jackson of Zebra, Havens and his ensemble capture Led Zeppelin’ s “sheer blast and power” riff for riff while cranking out new musical colors.
