Jana Hunter @ DiverseWorks Art Space

06282007_Jana.gifThis is your last chance to see Jana Hunter perform before she moves to Baltimore, MD. Along with KABLE and Hearts of Animals at DiverseWorks this should be an amazing performance and at $7/ticket - you cannot go wrong (it is an all ages performance). The music begins at 9:00 p.m. and DiverseWorks Art Space is located at 1117 East Freeway (I-10 folks), between San Jacinto and Main. Jana is promoting her latest release "There's No Home" (we know we probably mentioned this previously, but, it is a "must buy") check it - Pitchfork rates it an 8.0 Keep up with Jana Hunter on myspace.

KABLE, Manvel's own Kay Bonya will be performing live for the first time in her 12 year career which spans four albums. KABLE writes, performs, records and artworks all of her own releases and has been likened to artists ranging from Syd Barrett & Skip Spence to the Butthole Surfers. You can check her out on myspace here.

Lastly, and not least Hearts of Animals, a side project of Houston singer/songwriter Mlee Marie will perform songs from an upcoming debut release entitled "Lemming Baby". Her recent works have been described as "dream-like" - achingly beautiful beginnings layered with casio drumbeats and gritty electric guitar. Check out the myspace.
