awesome find, GH! sorry i missed the origianl show. i was 9 years old, though. don't know if the LA club was 9 and up. :-) and great tips from all the guests. i guess you finally "found what you're looking for." ahhhh. :-)

U2 created a country/western persona that they used to open 3 shows on the famous Joshua Tree Tour, known as the "Dalton Brothers" While U2 only officially played as the Dalton Brothers in concert three times, this video was recorded at the "LA Club" in Houston Texas. Only five songs were played, including the one in the recorded video, Lucille (Dalton Brothers' "first single"). "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," one of the Joshua Tree hits was also played in the club. This was at a bar across the street from Numbers, where U2 played, probably their first time in Houston. I cannot remember the name of the bar, but I heard about this show the next day, and I did attend the Numbers show. According to this site: http://www.u2-vertigo-tour.com/tour2.html it was April 8, 1987, however, it does not mention the Numbers show. The call it LA club, which kinda rings a bell, but if it is that show, it took place after hours, and it was closed to the public. Some Numbers historian can probably fill in the foggy gaps.
