Have we got your attention? Hope so, because this is some kinda big and important news! Yes, it IS bigger than the final settlement reached in the matter of Fed-X vs. That Bald Chick (the whole issue of "who's the better parent" makes us rush out for a BC Powder and a tequila shot, or three). Seriously, this Saturday marks the world premiere of "Tuna Does Vegas", starring Jaston Williams and Tony-Award winning Joe Sears, at the 1894 Grand Opera House in Galveston. If you attend the world premiere, you can enter for a chance to win a Vegas getaway for two. So, hit the premiere to be seen, enjoy complimentary champagne, chocolate casino chips, door prizes and more stuff! Now, Houstonist has purchased tickets which coincide with a trip to the peninsula (where else would a Houstonist vacation??), so, we will miss the big hoopla.
We cannot wait to see how the Smut Snatchers react, what with the denizens of Texas' third smallest town descending upon Sin City. Hey, what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas, at least not always. See what happens when the Greater Tuna Humane Society decides to investigate the authenticity of those white jungle cats. Watch, as Inita and Helen give being a showgirl a whirl. Even money says you will sprain a giggle muscle during this performance. There are plenty of great places to dine in the area, before or after the show (depending upon which performance you attend). Houstonist highly recommends Gaido's, the crab cakes are like buttah!
