How the Heights Does Sultry, Steamy & Exotic

No, it's not a new adult film premiering at Aurora, its White Linen Night in the Heights, and it's back for it's 2nd coming.

"Small town cool, in the center of the big city."

This Saturday, Heights residents, and curious visitors from all across the city, descend upon one of Houston's fastest-growing art scenes for a celebration of culture and community. The annual event, now in its second year, focuses on art, galleries, retail, outdoor markets, live music, fashion, restaurants and bars featuring entertainment, shopping, great food and cool summer drinks. Visitors are encouraged to wear cool white linen and take to the Heights streets.

Some of our favorite Heights businesses will be participating, including: Yol Art, Aunt Mike's, Dry Creek, The Glass Wall Restaurant, Jubilee, Kaboom Books, M2 Gallery, Tansu, The Urban Rendezvous and many, many more.

Yale Street Arts Market

Don't forget to stop by the Yale Street Arts Market, which takes place every first Saturday of the month. in the Wind Water Gallery [548 W. 19th St.] Parking Lot. 30 white canopied tents and drink stations. This Saturday, music by Sister Sister y Los Misters Latino Rock/Jazz Band. Be sure and check out FreshPhotography's booth for some great photos and prints!

Pre-party Events

Heights Antiques on Yale [2110 Yale St.] is hosting a Pre-White Linen Night Open House and Sale. Enjoy complimentary wine and hors d´ oeuvres from 3-6pm. New dealers. View their new large collection of Roseville Pottery, Italian Murano Glass, and Mid-Century Modern finds.

The Artful Corner [3423 White Oak] will be holding a ONE DAY SALE...the first ever "Heights Chamber of Commerce Community Yard Sale." This fun-filled event will take place on the grounds of The Artful Corner from 7am-2pm. You´ll find everything from books, toys, knick knacks and clothes to movies, rollerblades and bikes. The Backyard Gardener [5117 North Main] SUMMER BLOWOUT SALE - 30% off everything. Pots, Plants, Fountains, Furniture! First Saturday only - don´t miss it!
