Houston's pro sports teams have spawned a number of great blogs that offer coverage and commentary with a degree of freedom that the mainstream media only wishes it had. (Sorry, Richard Justice). Each week, we'll give you a run-down on what these blogs are talking about.
-Craig Biggio's quest for 3,000 hits is complete, but the drive to be hit by a pitch for the 288th time continues. The fantastically detailed Plunk Biggio has been covering the story as it develops for a long time, but now The Country's Number One News Source has picked it up, along with the attendent controversy. (Plunk Biggio, The Onion)
-The folks over at Crawfish Boxes are the best Astros blog in existence. Good in-game coverage, and well-reasoned analysis. This week, they looked at the Astros roster and picked some keepers. Always a fun, non-controversial topic. (Crawfish Boxes)
-Texans Locker takes a look at the depth chart at RB for the Texans. It's a deeper roster than last years, but still no Reggie Bush. (Texans Locker)
- Battle Red Blog says it's time for the Texans to cut their losses with their 2005 first round pick. If you want to be really depressed, research all the players taken after Travis Johnson that year. (Battle Red Blog)
- And the award for best Rockets headline of the month goes to...Rockets Blast. (Rockets Blast)
- AOL's Fanhouse collective of blogs reports an interesting story about former Rocket Robert Horry and the trade that wasn't. Big Shot Bob and Sam Cassell for Charles Barkley: bad trade, or worst trade? (AOL Fanhouse)
