Waugh Bridge Bat Colony Pontoon Tours

Yeah, niether have we. But now we're curious.

This Friday night, beginning at dusk, learn the answers to these questions as you board the Bayou Breeze Pontoon Boat and observe the emergence of approximately 250,000 bats from Waugh Street Bridge.

And you thought Austin was the only city with bats. Eh!

Guests on these tour will enjoy an amazing view of the bats' dusk emergence from our boats on the bayou's waters. Over 250,000 bats call Waugh Bridge home. The evening will be spent viewing and learning more about these magnificent flying mammals that share the city with us.

The 90-minute tour featuring Houston’s colony of Mexican Free-Tailed bats is guaranteed to be both mesmerizing and informative.

Tickets are $20 per adult and $15 per child (ages 4-12), and reservations are required. Cancellations must take place 72 hours prior to the tour.

For safety reasons, no child under the age of 5 is allowed on the pontoon boat. Meter parking available on Commerce Street. Additional parking available at the Spaghetti Warehouse Parking Lot.

Tours begin 45 minutes before dusk (weather permitting) , and all bat tours leave from Allen’s Landing, located at the 1000 block of Commerce Street (at Main Street).
