Good morning, Houston. Do you feel like you're living and dying in 3/4 time? Need a margarita(ville) or two to pick up your spirits on this way-too-hot Monday morning? How about a vintage Jimmy Buffett video to help you through the week? "Come Monday" has long been one of our favorite JB songs, and what better time to listen to it than now? Plus, his girlfriend was super-hot, and we can't argue with that.

>> Man charged in boy's wrestling death: Kevron Powell, 28, has been charged with reckless injury to a child in the death of David Price, 3. Powell was placed in charge of Price and two older siblings, as well as his own one-year-old child, while their mother was at work on Friday. Police were called to the scene on the 7000 block of Cook Saturday morning. Price was taken to Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital, were he was later pronounced dead. A witness said that the baby-sitter had been wrestling with the children prior to the young boy's death. Powell is currently being held in Harris County jail on $10,000 bond.

>> Ron Paul's wife hospitalized: Republican presidential candidate and Houston-area Congressman Ron Paul's wife was hospitalized in Iowa yesterday. Carol Paul went into surgery Saturday afternoon to have a pacemaker installed, and Rep. Paul's campaign reported that the surgery was a success and she is expected to be at fighting strength soon. Her surgery did delay the libertarian-leaning candidate's appearance at the Republican straw poll in Ames, Iowa, because he was at his wife's side. Paul did show up at the event, and even placed a respectable fifth among the Republican candidates. His wife is expected to make a full recovery, although we're not sure we can say the same about her husband's campaign.

>> Today's weather: With a high of 97 and a potential heat index of 104, we can't expect any relief from the August heat anytime soon. Clouds may move in later in the day, but without them we're still a little above our average high of 94 degrees. Burn, baby.

Stay chilly with some cool headlines...
