...and so are temperatures all over the planet (especially in Houston this week). This afternoon, environmental leaders engage citizens, in the form of Starbucks customers, in conversations about climate change and offer practical solutions to the climate crisis.

This afternoon from 2 - 3pm at the W. Gray Starbucks (um, the one with the drive-thru, not to be confused with the one across the street without the drive-thru), the green-minded coffee company will host a "National Day of Discussion." The event will coincide with nationwide events at coffeehouses in more than 60 U.S. cities to inspire community conversations about the vital issue of climate change. Starbucks has teamed with leading environmental organizations, including The Climate Group, Conservation International, Earth Day Network, Earth Watch and Global Green USA to create discussion guides for use at participating locations.
In the tradition of coffeehouse conversation, the goal of the event is to host an open dialogue about climate change and inspire customers and the communities we serve to be a part of the solution through simple, everyday decisions.
About The Organizations Involved
In the Houston events, Starbucks is teaming with Cath Conlon from Blackwood Educational Land Institute and Texas Bioneers to host the discussion and The Citizen's Environmental Coalition to participate and lead the dialogue.
Blackwood is an ecosystem and living classroom that inspires and teaches students of all ages to explore the natural web of life and to develop a healthy, respectful relationship with nature.
Bioneers was conceived to conduct educational and economic development programs in the conservation of biological and cultural diversity, traditional farming practices, and environmental restoration.
The Citizen's Environmental Coalition is a coalition of more than 100 nonprofit organizations working to improve the environment and the quality of life in the Houston-Galveston area
Hey, it may be the last time you'll get to get your mocha latte while staring across the street at someone else drinking their mocha latte, before Weingarten has it's way with the River Oaks plaza.
