Ticket Giveaway: Ben Kweller

070815_bkweller.jpgNot many musicians in their mid 20’s can say that they’ve been in the music industry for over a decade, but Texas native Ben Kweller can. When he was only 13 years old, he formed a band called Radish, which was hyped-up to be the next Nirvana. But, even after a major push from their record label, Radish’s hype turned out to be rubbish.

Ben Kweller has now made a bigger name for himself as a solo artist. His latest self-titled album is his most polished work yet, with some great pop/rock tracks like “Sundress,” “I Gotta Move,” and “Penny on the Train Track.”

Ben brings his live show to Walter’s on Washington this Friday night, with the eclectic Tim Fite opening. We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the show. If you’re interested in seeing Ben and Tim, e-mail your name and phone number to contest (at) houstonist (dot) com. The contest ends at noon tomorrow (Thursday), and we’ll contact the winner tomorrow afternoon. Good luck.

Also, as a reminder, Houstonist is co-sponsoring the Ben Kweller after party at Pearl Bar after the show, so if you don’t win the tickets, you can still party like you did!
