Well, at least some new Mike Jones music came out this week. In spite of his oft-delayed second album, Adidas, MLS, and Jones teamed up to create an anthem for the Dynamo, entitled Houston Dynamo (Don't Play). The song is part of the "MLS Represent" album, which matches all 13 MLS teams with a local band or artist to create a fight song for the team.

You can find the song here: you'll have to navigate through some menus to get there, but it's worth your trouble. The song is as catchy as you'd expect from Mr. Jones, and one of the better songs from the album.
FC Dallas got the Polyphonic Spree to write their song, which makes for reason #34,521 that Dallas sucks. Even if they covered "We Will Rock You", the Spree couldn't make a stadium anthem for soccer fans. Music for smoking hookah and planting trees? Sure. Music for people like this? Not bloody likely. Besides, DC United got Bad Brains. Yes, that Bad Brains. That's music for hooliganing.
Jones' off-delayed new album, The American Dream, is now scheduled for a Swishahouse release after a series of delays from Warner Brothers. The Chron had a good article on the tenuous alliance between Houston rappers and their new major label representatives recently that explains the delay. Until that, enjoy his ode to the Orange Crush.
