Texans Beat Cardinals, Schaub Shines

Jacoby Jones is still running. The Texans 3rd round draft pick out of of Division 2 Lane College continues to be the highlight maker for the team this preseason. On Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix, Jones ran back a punt return 80 yards and showed off some ankle-shattering moves in the process. Could Jones be this year's Devin Hester? Too soon to tell, but he could be a Sportscenter staple at this rate.

The Texans won the game 33-20 on strong performances from Matt Schaub and Sage Rosenfels behind center, with Schuab in particular showing some of the potential that precipitated David Carr's Carolina exile. Schaub was 9 for 12 passing for 108 yards, with an 8-yard touchdown run on a sweetly executed bootleg. The mainstream media is applauding Schaub's performance this weekend, so this may signal an end to the eternal punchline that the Texans have become.

The defense was hit and miss. Arizona brings a lot of talented wideouts to the field, and the Texans secondary was at times left looking stupid. But former USC standout and man-about-town Matt Leinart was held to 70 yards passing in limited playing time, and Travis Johnson recorded a sack. Mario Williams was seen holding a milk carton with his own picture on it.

Meanwhile, after the game, Leinart was seen living the condo of, oh who knows, let's just make something up, Kathy Bates last night in LA. More on this exciting story later!
