The BarCamp Houston Files
Here's a roundup of links, blog posts and photos from BarCamp Houston 2. Dwight Silverman experimented by covering BarCamp ad nauseum through Twitter. If you couldn't be there Dwight's Twitter Litter could keep you up to date virtually minute by minute. Jim Thompson, Katherine Druckman, Robert Nagle, A Wandering Eyre and sean.blog were there too and posted their experiences. There are also quite a few photos up on flickr for you to peruse.

Spring In Action
The Houston Java Users Group will be hosting Spring in Action with presenter, Craig Walls this Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 6:30pm at the HCC West Loop Center in Conference Room 105. Spring is, of course, a java based application that does a whole bunch of stuff that pretty much is over the head of non-Java users and programmers, like Houstonist.

AT&T Is On Fire
AT&T recently suffered two fires at different locations in the Houston area. The fires were contained to two separate VRAD battery units. VRADS are video-ready access devices that look like this and you're familiar with them, you see them throughout town and even in neighborhoods. The batteries are made by Avestor and AT&T is investigating the safety of these batteries.

Open Coffee Club
StartUp Houston is hosting their next Open Coffee Club which encourages informal discussion and networking among entrepreneurs and investors to help grow startup companies in the Houston area. They'll be meeting up at The Coffee Groundz, Thursday, August 30th, 2007 from 8:00AM - 10:00AM.

Who missed Houston TechFest 2007?
Here's something that wasn't on our radar, Houston TechFest 2007 brought to you by the nice folks at Houston .NET User Group. Looks like they had some competition as the event was planned the same day as BarCamp Houston. I wonder who got the most attendees? Hopefully next year these events won't compete.
