Steel Lounge Underground Music Series at CAMH
Well, we hope you all survived the storm of the century last night. Even if you did, looks like the labor day weekend's gonna be more of the same. Guess we should just chalk this whole summer up. Here's to a sunny 2008 summer!
Of course, really the only event worth going to tonight is our Houston's B-day Pub Crawl Downtown, but of course that wouldn't be fair us to be bias. Right? So if we weren't having the pub crawl, you would probably catch us downstairs at the CAMH for Steel Underground. Or maybe curled up under the covers listening to the rain.
Tonight's Steel Lounge Underground presents a “Back to School Bash” with some of our favorite friends from KTRU 91.7 Rice Radio. The KTRU DJs will be out in the Zilkha Gallery, occupying the temporary performance space integral to the current downstairs exhibition, Perspectives 157: Xaviera Simmons. Enjoy KTRU’s usual eclectic mix of obscure indie party music while taking in the one-thousand-plus vintage record album covers that make up the Simmons installation, as well as The Brown Foundation Gallery exhibition Nexus Texas, featuring 16 artists based in all corners of the state.
As always, Steel Lounge Underground will feature quality imported beers for $2, wine, cocktails, and free sushi and veggie rolls for early arrivals.
