The best part about a 3 day weekend: A 4 day work week. Bonus! So happy Tuesday. The weekend's just around the corner.
After visiting the HCP last week for the SPIN Party, we realized just how little we visit this art space, considering all the great programs they offer. Like First Tuesday! Yes, we are THAT excited it's Tuesday.
First Tuesday provides an opportunity for local photographers and media-based artists to share their work with each other and gain insights from their fellow participants. The sessions, held the first Tuesday of every month, are organized by HCP Education Coordinator Rachel Hewlett. First Tuesday opens with an overview of what’s happening this month at HCP and around town, along with information on other photographic opportunities around the country
Participants are invited to bring works in progress or recently completed portfolios. Work may be brought in print format (preferably no larger than 16x 20 inches) or digital format (jpegs on CD or USB thumb drive for projection). Each person generally has about ten minutes to present their work and hear comments or seek advice on creative or technical matters.
Donations are appreciated and go towards the costs of staying open late.
Photo buff? Don't forget about Houstonist's 1st Annual Photo Show, opening this week at M Squared Gallery in the Heights. Join us for an opening reception this Saturday at 7pm.
