Houston Sports Blog Roundup 9/3 Edition

It's time again to look into the wilds of the internets and see what people are saying about Houston's sports teams. Without further ado, here we go.

-Jacoby Jones is hands-down the most exciting player on the Texans right now, and probably their most anticipated rookie since David Carr. The national press is starting to take notice as well, as noted in this NFL.com article that compares Jones to last NFL season's IT GUY Devin Hester.

-The Dugout has a fine send off for Tim Purpura and Phil Garner. Gotta love the Luke Scott and Roger Clemens cameo. Oops, spoilers!

-The "Matt Schaub as Texans' Messiah" story continues unabatted, even in the face of the clear fact that the team has improved in multiple areas otherwise. In fact, the Washington Post is taking that angle and is running with it, too. Check out their glowing profile of Schaub.

-Rafer Alston is not Jack the Ripper, says the owner of the nightclub in NYC where he was arrested last week.

-A great Texans roundup from AOL's Fanhouse collective. We've got real reasons to be optimistic this season, folks.

-Finally, if you haven't experienced the beauty of Kige Ramsey's YouTube sports coverage, you're missing out on our generation's Howard Cossell. His hard-hitting, insightful take on the Astros' management shakeup is brilliant in its timeliness and simplicity.
