Man, this is getting repetitive. While the Rockets will never be mistaken for the 06-07 Cincinnati Bengals, this certainly has been a productive off season for law enforcement personnel when Rockets players are around. The latest player to run into trouble with Johnny Law is recently-acquired forward Justin Reed, who was arrested last night in Jackson, Mississippi for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Reed played for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, and was brought to Houston in the same trade that reunited the Rockets with point guard Mike James in exchange for Juwan Howard's corpse. He's projected to be a role player for the team this season, but we're assuming that he's been spending more time rolling than role playing lately.
The arrest will not require jail time, but instead a fine will be assessed at a later date. The Rockets have yet to release a statement, and Reed was too busy looking for Doritos to respond to press inquiries.
