Do You Believe In Miracles? Texans Are 2-0!

Let's take a step back and look at the facts here. The Texans are undefeated to start the season, 2-0 for the first time in franchise history. They scored 34 points against the Panthers, a team record. Matt Schaub was not sacked, not one single solitary time. We'll emphasize that last part again: at no point in the game did Matt Schaub stare up at the Carolina sky, holding the football, while a very large gentleman no doubt said some very ungentlemanly things about his parentage and his mother's dubious morality. Are these really the Texans?

After surrendering two early touchdowns, the Texans rallied on the road to defeat the Panthers, with QB Matt Schaub leading the way. Schaub threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns without any interceptions or the aforementioned sacks; he was particularly fond of Andre Johnson, hooking up with number 80 for 120 yards and both of the TD's. Schaub is proving any remaining doubters wrong while establishing himself as one of the NFL's hottest young quarterbacks this season.

The defense was bright spot again this week. They bounced back quickly from early mistakes and ended up putting points on the board with a recovered fumble for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the game out of Carolina's reach. 19-year old man-child DE Amobi Okoye wracked up two sacks in his strongest showing since being drafted in the first round this year.

The future is bright today in Texan-land. Seats on the bandwagon are filling up fast, so get yours while the picking is ripe. Get to Academy now for your jerseys and t-shirts and logo-emblazoned sunglasses, so that when the playoffs roll around you can claim that you've been a loyal fan ever since 2002.

The Texans face a big challenge next week against Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts. Manning has been known to play dirty, so this will be a true test of the team's mettle.

Woohoo!

I just ordered my Matt Turk jersey. Hope it gets here by Sunday.

let's just hope the MRI on AJ's knee comes back OK today.

Ahh... thank you for the band wagon section. I was just complaining about the band wagon people this morning. I should dig out my faded t-shirt that I bought at Academy the day the name of the team was announced.
