Thriftster: September 24 - 27

Spent all your cash on girlie drinks and shattered dreams again this weekend, didn't you? No worries - Thriftster gives you the lowdown on cheap stuff to do until Paycheck Friday.

thriftster_graphic.jpgMonday: Strut your inner rock star at Guitar Hero Mondays at Fitzgerald's (2706 White Oak Dr.) where you can air guitar your way to everlasting glory. Just think of the pick up lines you'll have for the bar next weekend - chicks dig faux-musicians right??

Tuesday: Missing Interpol tonight? Food Alcohol makes everything better. Giant paella night at Mi Luna (2441 University Blvd) brings with it the balming powers of $2 sangria and margaritas. Thirsty for more? Hit Boondocks (1417 Westheimer) for a Lone Star nightcap and a little Little Joe Washington.

Wednesday: Knock out your urban art fix and sneaker shopping in one fell swoop at Premium Goods' (2416 Times Blvd.) ongoing 3-year anniversary art show entitled 'More Ways Than One'.

Thursday: Hit the MFAH (free admission tonight!) to check out Japan's cutesy-yet-morbid Chiho Aoshima's video installation City Glow. Then, to keep the pop art feeling alive, get your vinyl toy-loving self to the Dunny Toy Trade Night at Domy Books (1709 Westheimer) from 6-8pm. It's a global event, so be on the lookout for cool Kid Robot giveaways and other surprises.
