Punky Reggae Party at the Prolo

During our daily scrummage though Houston's many local music blogs, we ran across this event brought to us by HoustonSoReal.

We'll just let you hear it from Sonzala...

Thursday Sept. 27th Witnes and I are bringing DJ Queen Majesty and Grimy Styles to the Proletariat for a Punky Reggae Party. For those who don't know, Punky Reggae is a term, I think coined by Bob Marley and/or Lee Scratch Perry, anyway it was their reaction to what they saw when they went to the UK and saw all these punk rockers who looked crazy, but also loved reggae and would incorporate bits of it into their music (think of The Clash for easy reference). Anyway, we're doing this lil ol reggae party fairly punk rock style. We have $2 Red Stripes till midnight and FREE ADMISSION! So get in free, drink cheap and well, smoke in the parking lot across the street, I don't know.

...because we couldn't have said it better. Check it.
