Atomic Dog Day!!! WHOOT!

The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art is kicking off its Fall with a fantastic afternoon for families, children, artists and all very cool persons who enjoy art cars! Saturday, September 29th from 1-4pm, head on over to Munger Street, home of The Orange Show Monument, for food, drinks and the return of the 2006 winner of the Mayor's Cup - Atomic Dog, created by Waltrip High School. Those of you who hit the Art Car Parade this year may have noted that George Clinton was not in "his" car, which has been hanging out in Europe - well, a German parking lot, anyway, until Houston philanthropist Brady Carruth rescued this amazing creation, by having it shipped home. Mr. Carruth will be at the ceremony/day of art and education to turn over the keys (ceremoniously, of course) and speak to the importance of involving kids in creating art.

Plus, there will be hands-on workshops for the kids, face painting, balloons, prizes and live music, food and beverages - and more, for FREE (dang, there's that word, again!). There will be other art cars on display, B-Boy will be there and there will be graffiti art exhibitions sponsored by Youth Advocates. Teen jam band The Blue Threads will be one of the performers on hand for this big event. So, bring the family out for (FREE) Art Workshops, Live Music, Dance/Art Exhibitions, Food and FUN!!!

Food and beverages will be provided by the following: Amy's Ice Cream, Freebird's Burritos, James Coney Island and Sweet Leaf Tea! Yummy!
