Here's a chance to own a piece of history on Heights Boulevard: a 1918 home designed by noted architect Alfred C. Finn. The home had fallen into disrepair over the years — we mean, it looked bad — but in 2002, it was restored using the original plans, and it's now absolutely beautiful.

A lot of the original features are still in place inside the house, including wood trim, baseboards, windows, gas fireplaces, sets of pocket doors and French doors, and the central staircase with a sweeping wood banister. Downstairs is a formal living room, a study complete with built-in bookcases and a gas fireplace, a kitchen with a six-burner range and double ovens, and a great family/breakfast room that opens onto the back yard. One of the best features of the first floor, though, has to be the wraparound porch: It's nearly 700 square feet and features its original tile and four ceiling fans. Now that's what we call a porch!

Upstairs are the bedrooms, including the spacious master with seven windows overlooking Heights Boulevard (and a master bath with jacuzzi tub). The back yard has a heated pool with two waterfalls — not 1918 vintage, in case you wondered — and a detached garage with original carriage doors and two apartments on the second floor, which should help offset your house payment ... a little. Bedrooms: five. Bathrooms: three and a half. Square feet: 4,249. Price: $1.19 million.
