Startup Weekend Houston: We're tipping you off

093007_23_swh.jpgWhat did you do this weekend? A little yard work? Catch up on TIVO shows? Maybe threw a couple of steaks on the grill while watching the pigskin being thrown around?

Even if you accomplished ALL of that in the last two days, you still pale in comparasion to a group of entrepreneurial Houstonians who, by the end of today, will have conceived, created, and organized a new company, all in the span of this weekend. Talk about making us feel like lazy slobs.

Have you ever wondered what a group of highly talented and motivated people could accomplish in a weekend? Could they start a company from concept to completion?

StartupWeekend answers that question and more. A unique three-day experience, StartupWeekend brings the best and brightest people together in a local office space to select the concept, break into teams, and develop the product, marketing and revenue model.

093007_swh.jpgWe have been invited out to the final stretch today, to watch the Houston team in action. We've just arrived while final voting on the logo and tagline is being determined.

Working late into the night Friday, wee hours on Saturday morning, and streaming live from headquarters all day yesterday and today, the public watched as TipDish was born.

TipDish is the online directory and distribution service that connects companies, organizations, PR and Marketing Professionals with the leaders and influencers in social media.

TipDish gives social media players and influencers (dishers) direct, targeted access to the latest news and information from communications professional (tippers) to help generate cutting-edge content, expand readership or viewership and to increase audience interest.

We'll be live blogging all day from the bat cave The Method Agency, where Developers, Designers, Marketers, and plenty of brilliant minds currently sit in a think tank and combine forces get this puppy off the ground.

Check back for status updates throughout the day, as we, and you can witness this startup company unfold berfore our eyes, (ahem, your feedreader).
