::Open Mic Night at the Laff Stop::

We gotta admit, we are a little curious how a smoky, comedy club will, ahem, "stand-up" without, well, the smoke. Isn't that kinda, like, part of the ambiance? Is it unhealthly to call smoke ambiance. Hell, whatever.

Since the smoking ordinace was passed (and half-ass enforced) on Sept 1st, we've noticed a few changes in some of our usual haunts. I mean, who is used to seeing 3 feet in front of themselves at Sherlock's? Weird, huh?

So, tonight, in an effort to further prove that the times they are achangin' we are going to check out the Laff Stop's Monday Open Mic Night.

Some of the Biggest Names in comedy today are from Houston, and all of them started out here at the Laff Stop Monday Open Mic. Today the tradition continues with Houston’s next generation of comics performing for free. With so many professional comics under one roof, you never know what to expect. So come laugh before they get famous and find out why Houston is considered one of the premiere comedy cities in America today.Shows start at 7:30 and if you want to join the madness, interested performers should arrive by 6:30.

Well, we're not sure about Houston being one of the premiere comedy cities in America, but we sure do like to think that someone thinks so. That's how rumors get started. And we're all about gossip. Yum.
