You be the Judge – for New Comedians

As part of HBO’s The Comedy Festival, a contest known as The Lucky 21 was created. The premise of the contest is to spotlight the upcoming comedians from around the country.

Tomorrow night the Southwest Regional finals will take place for The Lucky 21 at the Houston Improv, after which you can vote for your favorite comedian. Think of it as seeing a reality TV show in person. Voting for the comedians begins on October 8th and is open to anyone. The two winners from the Southwest Region will go on to perform in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace.

The comedians set to perform are Bob Biggerstaff, Justin Foster, Bryan Gutmann, Matt Bearden, Scotty Goff, Kurt Fletcher, Cleto Rodriguez, Jose Sarduy, David Nickerson, AJ Finney; Bryan Ricci, and Reggie Walker.

There is also one “wild card” spot which is open to anyone (professional or not). So if you think you have what it takes to make people laugh you can send in your performance.
