Friday Afternoon Videos: For Real

We told you Tuesday that Austin's own Okkervil River is our concert pick of the week. They play their last U.S. show (for this tour) tomorrow night at Walter's on Washington. Houstonist caught them a few years ago at the Mucky Duck, and we can vouch for the talent that they dispense.

The song "For Real" is pulled from their 2005 critically acclaimed album Black Sheep Boy. The animated video was directed by Zak Margolis, but Okkervil River leader Will Sheff (who was interviewed recently by our parent site, Gothamist) had his hand in it, too. They wanted the video to follow the concept behind the Black Sheep Boy album. Listen to Will's commentary on the video.
