Thriftster: October 8 - 11

Spent all your cash on girlie drinks and shattered dreams again this weekend, didn't you? No worries - Thriftster gives you the lowdown on cheap stuff to do until Paycheck Friday.

thriftster_graphic.jpgMonday: Hit the East end tonight for coffee and Dia de Los Muertos art-perusing at Bohemeos (708 Telephone Rd). They've got free wifi so you can catch up with all your weekend MySpace alerts over a kick-your-face-in cup of Guatemalan coffee or a cold Mojito (you bring the booze, they set it up).

Tuesday: Make it a sexy Tuesday and take a date to go look at naughty line drawings by Texas Artist of the Year Dixie Friend Gay at the Art League Houston (1953 Montrose Blvd.). Then feed the *other* hunger within at Cafe Montrose (1609 Montrose Blvd) with a chilled glass of wine and an order of moules et frites (mussels and fries in white wine, yum). What happens after that is absolutely none of our business.

Wednesday: All your beer knurds know that Wednesdays are Brewery Nights at The Flying Saucer Draft Emporium (705 Main St.), so if you're a Sam Adams Oktoberfest fan tonight's the night you get hooked up with a John Lennon pint glass. 'Nuff said.

Thursday: Need a practice run for the Halloween costume? Head over to Oolala (833 Studewood) for wine, munchies, shopping and happyfuntimes at their Boolala soiree 5-9pm. Then freak out the patrons over at the Boom Boom Room (2518 Yale) for ridiculously good panini and live jazz.
