Cupcakes for a Cause! Bake a Difference, Houston!

10112007_cupcake.jpgLet us eat cake, well, cupcakes - lots of them, at Dessert Gallery Bakery & Cafe. Yep, head on over to any Dessert Gallery location, either at 3200 Kirby Drive, 1616 Post Oak Drive or, at the newest location 2260 Lone Star Drive at Sugar Land Town Square (read: fake downtown). A donation of ten percent of the purchase price of every pink ribbon cupcake sold will go to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Specifically, to the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center's Pink Ribbon Program. Last week, Houstonian's had the opportunity to participate in or donate to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to raise awareness and raise some research dollars to fight breast cancer. Now that you've burned a few calories walking for a cure - treat yourself and everyone you know to a tasty little cupcake and support Cupcakes for a Cause (how bad can such a small dessert really be, after all?) so, you can do even more!!! Or, if you didn't walk - you have a brilliant excuse to have some luscious dessert or a "healthy snack" and use your powers of logic to eradicate any potential feelings of sugar-based guilt. After all, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month - and you are helping to hopefully save lives, one cupcake at a time.

Dessert Gallery owner, Sara Brook, recently lost her aunt Dede Mayer - native Houstonian and M.D. Anderson patient. This is a "pay it forward" to thank the staff and help others who are affected. Also, while you are getting your cupcake on, give some payola or pocket change to supplement your support - the Desserty Gallery will be collecting cash donations to "sweeten" the deal.
