Called one of the most "resilient and consistently inventive American artists of the last two decades," Howe Gelb has served as the frontman for Giant Sand, been a member of of OP8 and become owner of his own record label, "all the while entertaining, confounding and influencing fans and critics alike."

Howe's music travels the spectrum from bluesy piano and rollicking guitar riffs to haunting melodies and spare strummings as barren and beautiful as the Western desert he calls home.
