Dammit, Houston *is* a literary town! Here's a slew of readings happening this week, from the hilarious David Sedaris to the wry Nick Hornby and the unbalanced Lisa Belkin. Her word choice, not ours.

Two heavy-hitting writers with a bucket of awards apiece. Lewis is the author of In the Arms of Our Elders and I Got Somebody in Staunton. Cronin is the author of The Summer Guest and Mary and O'Neil.

Author of Life's Work: Confessions of an Unbalanced Mom, Belkin is speaking at a benefit for the Initiative for Jewish Women. She's also the author of First Do No Harm and Balancing Life and Work. Tickets are $125.

Nick Hornby at Hobby Center for the Performing Arts/Zilkha Hall , 800 Bagby St.

Part of the Cool Brains! series for young adult readers from Inprint, although no doubt there will be many adult fans on site. He's making only a few stops in the US and Houston is one of them.
