Teardowns of the week

We witnessed the operose demolition of the office building sitting in the way of Randall Davis' new Californian baby Sonoma this week. The green tile (possibly chosen by Lars Bang and Lucian Hood) was flying with a handful of onlookers - don't worry, though - Davis' stylish Mediterraneuscan masterpiece will break ground after the rest of the area is demolished and the street is closed.

Speaking of oper...as
Once named a "scenic wooded wonderland" with streets named after operas, Memorial Bend is losing its charm, one house at a time. This week, say goodbye to 12927 Tosca (picture) and 12802 Hansel (picture). You will be able to see the new homes in the works shortly, and they eerily resemble the Cali-Medi-Tuscan flair of Sonoma.

Another themed neighborhood...
...another similar new home. In Sherwood Forest, look for 730 E Friar Tuck to be morphed into Andrew Estes' latest $3.5 million "custom" spec house.

A good place to hunt for Houston teardowns: the daily demolition reports at Swamplot.

Yes, thanks. Good link. The COH also offers a searchable database (which might be what link pulls from), but the punctuality is iffy.
