Houston Sports Blog Roundup 10/29 Edition

Happy Monday from the Sports Doldrums! With the World Series over, the Texans being the Texans, and the Rockets not quite started, this has got to be the worst time of the sports year. But sports being what they are, people are still talking about them. Here's what the blog world has been saying about your hometown teams:

- Sad, but unsurprising, end to the story of the life and death of Eddie Griffin. He was intoxicated at the time of his fatal car crash.

- The Texans game yesterday was depressing, let there be no doubt. DGDB&D is looking for answers, and one seems obvious: fire defensive coordinator Rick Smith.

- Craig Biggio gets one more trophy for his collection to cap off his career. The Roberto Clemente award is given annually to the MLB player who "best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual's contribution to his team". Yup, sounds like Bidge.

- Rice's disappointing football season isn't just bad, it was inevitable. Why? Because of the Coaching Carousel from Hell. The Realests explain.

- The Rockets faced (and destroyed) Kevin Durant's Sonics in the preseason this week, and Clutch Fans had some great notes on the game.

That'll do it for this week. Check back again next week for more links!
