Houston! We’re going to be rounding up current food and wine events once a week, so you don’t have to. Previously, we posted these gastronomic opportunities, along with festivals and the like – having let that slip was criminal! Once again, Culinary Adventures comes your way!!!
Tour de Donut – “The Sweetest Bike Ride in Texas”Sunday, November 4th – beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Sun & Ski Sports @ Katy Mills Mall
$25/participant in advance $35/participant on race day
28 miles of cycling and FREE donuts all along the way
-Benefiting The Make-A-Wish Foundation, the goal is to have 1,100 riders of all ages and abilities bike for charity. But, wait, there’s a little kick – the donuts are free and from Shipley’s and the more you eat, the more time is shaved off of your race time (hello? How fabulous is that?). You must wear a helmet and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Eat enough donuts and you may not have to ride at all (unless the guilt gets you). Participants will compete by division and each division Grand Prize is a 2-day/3-night ski package to Winter Park, Colorado with roundtrip airfare on Continental Airlines.
