Maybe credits for making buildings LEED certified? Is it safe to say we lag a bit environmental standards?

Making architectural recognition more of priority? A Houston residence was featured in Dwell recently:

Structures in many ways define the face of a city and do we want to be medi-stucco all over?

Ned, you are right on to be opening the Ashby discussion to the larger idea of how Houston should grow as a city -- because obviously it's growing.

It seems like a terrific opportunity for Houston to step up to the architectural plate. The city could showcase some stunning contemporary architecture, put environmentally-friendly ordinances in place, and make the city a nicer place to be.

If Houston wants to join other major metropolitan cities in the country as a cosmopolitan place to live, here's a great way to do it.
