Daily-ist: Monday

skirts-pencil.jpg::Official Houston Launch of Skirt! Magazine::

A few skirt-y things have come outta Houston in the last few months, and we are thrilled our lovely ladies are making their mark in Houston business. First, Houstonian and hilarious blogger, Laura Mayes, co-founds sk*rt, a social media ranking site that caters to the female persuasion (think Digg, but for chicks).

And not to be confused with that sk*rt, this last month launched the Houston market of Skirt! Magazine, a national women's magazine, with local components all over the country. The skirts are friendly, we checked. Even though they share in eerily similar asterisk logo.

We love parties on Mondays, and that is why tonight, we will be at Gravitas, as Skirt! Magazine officially launches. The party will include gourmet bites, skirt-inspired cocktails, and raffle prizes benefiting Texas Children's Hospital Fun Run Initiative, I Have A Dream-Houston, Cancer Counseling and Literacy Advance.

Admission and valet parking is complimentary. Donations and volunteer commitments are welcome.

RSVPs are required. Email rsvp@skirthouston.com or call 713.362.7348 for reservations.
