::Suchu Dance premieres Babka at Barnevelder Movement Complex::
110807_dance.jpgTonight opens Suchu Dance's newest performance, Babka, at the neato Barnevelder Movement Complex. If you've not been to a Suchu Dance performance, or visited this unique performing arts venue, you are in for a treat tonight.

In a unique way to kick-off this performance, Suchu Dance is offering a dinner/show preview tonight. For $29.99 you can catch a sneak peek of the new performance and have a delicious meal at the arts complex.

Suchu Dance, founded in 1998, is an award-winning, Houston-based contemporary dance/theatre performing group led by Artistic Director and Choreographer Jennifer Wood and Managing Director Louie Saletan. Suchu Dance engages itself in the creation and development of new contemporary dance theatre works, averaging 2-3 evening-length premieres and 5-6 other performances a season in Houston and beyond.

Jennifer Wood, the choreographic engine behind Suchu Dance, has been toiling away crafting dance after dance for the past 13 years. It's been said that Wood doesn't make dances -- instead, she creates worlds where dance happens.

She has directed ten full-length works and seems remarkably comfortable in the form. Her vivid imagination, combined with a natural sense of theatricality, makes for consistently compelling adventures. Suchu's dancers are unique as well: full of personality, impish charm and organic verve.
